Justin Cooper (b. 1975), is an American artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. Cooper’s practice is motivated by recontextualization, and the presence of absence. Much of his work is characterized by the interplay of unpredictability and restraint—utilizing materials such as tape, paint, polyethylene, newsprint, neon and carbon powder—and its effects, which promotes a process of proposition and effacement to generate aesthetic forms. He is the founder and publisher of Another Fine Mess and co-founder of Society6.
